We are pleased to announce that the Bronx Practicum was chosen as a winner of New York City Institute for Urban Design By the City / For the City design competition.
The project is one of 10 winners out of 150 submissions that imagine new futures for the public realm of New York City. The work was showcased during an exhibition and a special publication at the first ever Urban Design Week Festival in New York City starting September 16, 2011.

Thanks for the great presentation this evening! Especially liked hearing the Park-It Place ideas, the remediation wetlands used in winter for ice skating,ideas for stormwater capture and reuse, and the imaginative use of light and art to activate areas under highways. Thanks also for the idea of using old gantries and crane structures as frames for stages or projection screens. MIT rocks!
